Studio vh were approached by a young professional couple with a brief to reconfigure a 1930's former workers cottage located within a conservation area. This once small and cramped house has been transformed into one that feels bright and spacious. The design was based around opening up the existing internal volume, creating a double volume space into which a live-work programme has been inserted. A restrained palette of material has been adopted providing a calm, minimal and monochromatic backdrop.
