The owners of an existing 1950's bungalow approached studio v h to upgrade and extend their house to provide a modern home for their growing family. Their brief revolved around utilizing the loft space to provide additional bedrooms with study areas for the children and also to provide a new multi-functional playroom which would have a connection to the garden. The design solution looked to complete the original roof form and provide additional dormer windows which would capture distant views of the city. On ground floor the interior is reorganised to provide a new open plan living area which opens out onto a newly formed terrace. Below this, a flexible new playroom is located which opens out onto the garden.
